Standing Committees

 

 

Executive Committee – Chairperson: President

  • Advises and consults on operations of the Foundation.
  • Members are the officers of the Foundation and the WSU Master Gardener Program Leader.

 

Finance Committee - Chairperson: Treasurer

Oversees preparation and filing of all required government reports. With the Executive Committee, prepares an annual budget.

  • Oversees the auditing of the financial records of the Foundation.
  • Reviews and recommends all major expenditures, including grants.
  • Explores sources of external funding. This includes review of possible involvement in grants.

  

Communications Committee - Chairperson: An Officer of the MGFWS

  • Scope of responsibilities encompasses all forms of MGFWS internal and external communications, including but not limited to the following (except that the Executive Committee may temporarily or permanently exclude any program or activity):
    • Newsletter
    • Website
    • ListServ 
    • Press Releases

  • Membership:   The membership of the Communications Committee will attempt to reflect the geographic, demographic and horticultural diversity of the state, and will consist of:

    • An Officer of the MGFWS, who will be the chair of the committee.
    • One MGFWS regional vice-president, to be selected by the Executive Committee.
    • One MGFWS county representative, to be selected by the Executive Committee.
     

 

Awards Committee - Chairperson: Assigned

Oversees committees that select scholarship recipients, the Master Gardener of the Year, and recipients of the Ed LaCrosse Distinguished Service Awards and the Media Award.

 

Search for Success - Chairperson: Assigned

Organizes and manages the Search for Success program during the statewide annual conference.
