Grounded in Service, Growing Toward the Future

Welcome to Washington Grows, a new monthly blog from the leadership of the WSU Extension Master Gardener Program. Rooted in our legacy of cultivating plants, people, and communities since 1973, each edition offers a window into the work, priorities, and vision that guide our statewide program—along with stories that highlight the dedication and impact of our volunteers.

Across Washington, Master Gardeners are helping communities grow greener, healthier, and more resilient. This space will share updates on program initiatives, celebrate volunteer achievements, spotlight emerging research and best practices, and offer a deeper look at how we’re advancing horticulture and environmental stewardship education.

Whether you’re a volunteer, partner, supporter, or someone who believes in the power of plants and community, we’re glad you’re here. Together, we’ll explore the ideas, innovations, and collaborations that help Washington grow—one season, one project, and one learning moment at a time.

These efforts are strengthening local ecosystems and nourishing Washington’s future.
